Wrong Way .. Go Back

In the name of Allah, the Most-Merciful, the All-Compassionate

"May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon You"
Praise be to Allaah, we seek His help and His forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allaah from the evil of our own souls and from our bad deeds. Whomsoever Allaah guides will never be led astray, and whomsoever Allaah leaves astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is no god but Allaah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

Bidah - Innovation in the religion of Islam

What is Bidah ?

Innovation in Islam is the invention, creation or addition of any religious matter which was not originally found in Islam.
It is not innovation in general life....like the invention of cars, planes, electricity etc.
For aspects of worship or ritualistic behaviors in Islam there must be something in the Quran or the Hadith to explain and confirm its practice.

Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "...and the best speech is the Speech of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace be upon him), and the worst of all affairs are the newly invented matters (in the religion)" [Sahih Muslim]

Evidence against Bidah
Prophet Mohammad, (peace be upon him) says in this respect: "He who innovates something that is not in agreement with our matter (religion), will have it rejected." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Allah says in the interpretation of the meaning of the Quran that "This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed my favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion"
[Quran 5:4]

Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "...Verily he among you who lives [long] will see great controversy, so you must keep to my Sunnah and to the Sunnah of the rightly-guided Khalifahs - cling to them stubbornly. Beware of newly invented matters, for every invented matter is an innovation and every innovation is a going astray, and every going astray is in Hell-fire."
[Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi]

How to identify Bidah

It is something that specifies doing something in a specific time, place or manner which does not have evidence to support it.
For example fasting on the 15th of Shaaban and the other rituals that go along with it. Where is the evidence ?

An example of evidence for other days of fasting ...Messenger of Allah said: "Fasting on the day of Arafah is an expiation for two years, the year preceding it and the year following it. Fasting the day of Ashura is an expiation for the year preceding it."
[Related by "the group," except for al-Bukhari and at-Tirmidhi]

Reasons Bidah exists:

1) Ignorance -
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
"Allah does not erase knowledge (from earth) by erasing knowledge from slaves (hearts). Rather, He erases knowledge through the death of scholars. When He leaves (earth) without scholars, people will take the ignorant as leaders (and scholars). They (the ignorant) will be asked and then give Fatawa without knowledge. Then, they will be lead, and will lead astray." [Ahmad]

2) Following desires -
Allah says: "But if they answer you not O Muhammad, then know that they only follow their own lusts. And who is more astray then one who follows his own lust (desires) without the guidance from Allah" [Noble Quran 28:50]

"Have you seen him who takes his own desires as his god, and Allah knowing (him as such) left him astray, sealed his hearing and his heart, and put a cover on his sight. Who then will guide him after Allah." [Noble Quran 45:23]

3) Blind Following -
Allah said what translated means:
"Follow what Allah has sent down." They say: "Nay! We shall follow what we found our fathers following. Even though their fathers did not understand anything, nor were they guided."
[Noble Quran 2:170]

4) Imitating the disbelievers -
Adopting their celebrations and practices.
An example in the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him) when the companions asked him to give them an "Anwar Tree" and Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

"Allahu Akbar! It is the Sunan (traditions of the Mushrikun). You said by He Who has my soul in His Hand, what the children of Israel said to Moses: "Make for us gods as they have gods. He said: 'Verily! You are a people who know not." [7:138]
and he (peace be upon him) said: You will follow the traditions of those before you (Jews and Christians)" [at-Tirmidhi]

Dangers of Bidah:

1) Thinking you are getting closer to Allah -
Allah accepts the actions of those who make their intentions for Him alone and according to His ways.

Shaytan loves Bidah because people rarely repent from it thinking they are on the right path getting closer to Allah.

2) Dividing the Ummah -
Allahs Messenger (peace be upon him) said:

"...my Ummah will be fragmented into seventy-three sects. All of them will be in Hell Fire except one sect. They (the Companions) said: Allah's Messenger, which is that? Whereupon he said: It is one to which I and my companions belong." [At- Tirmidhi]

A Muslim of the Sunnah will be forced to stay away from the practice of Bidah and will therefore be separated from other Muslims

3) Destruction of the Sunnah -
Ibn Abbas said, "When Bidah is created then the Sunnah dies and this continues until that Bidah is living and the Sunnah is dead."

And also, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Islam began as something strange, and it shall return as something strange as it began. So give glad tidings to the strangers."
It was asked, "Who are the strangers?"
He replied, "Those that purify and correct what the people have corrupted of my Sunnah" [at-Tabarani]

This corruption is Bidah, where people have changed the religion of Allah until the Sunnah has become corrupted.

4) Committing Shirk -
An example from one Muslim country when they lay the foundation of a new house they put up a flag pole and raise a piece of cloth like a scarf or something to protect the house from the evil eye during the time it is being built. Some even place a tire (yes a car tire) on the pole to protect them. They also dip their hand in henna and make a hand print with the henna on the new walls of the house to protect it from the evil eye. This is Shirk!!

5) Damaging the image of Islam -
For the Ummah as a whole, Bidah hurts the spreading of Islam and Dawah for the sake of Allah. Honour killings (the killing of a daughter for committing fornication) is an example. There is nothing in Islam that allows a family to execute the Islamic Shariah their own way. There is a process for dealing with adultery, and for the unmarried person it is in fact 100 lashings, not death. People, ignorant of Islam believe that this is how our religion is and those guilty of this form of Bidah, in fact guilty of one of the worst of major sins, taking the life of a Muslim, are harming the way the non Muslims view Islam.

6) Bidah is the cause of Fitnah or severe punishment for this Ummah -
As Allah says: "For those people who are differing from the commands of Prophet, there will come to them either a Fitnah (test or trial from Allah) or a severe punishment." [Noble Quran 24:63]

And you can look in the Muslim countries where Bidah is rampant.

- Celebrating the Prophets Birthday
- Reading Quran for the dead e.g. Chapter Yasin or celebrate 40 days after a persons died
- Putting head stones or monuments over the grave
- Asking the dead to make Duaa for them or relay the message to Allah

7) Bidah is a stepping stone to disbelief -
Allah says:
"The way of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace, those whose (portion) is not wrath, and who go not astray."
[Noble Quran 1:7]

This verse refers to the Christians and the Jews. They introduced new laws into the religion and this took them away from the true message of the Prophets Musa and Issa (peace be upon them). They took to rulings of their priests and rabbis over the words of Allah and his Messengers.

8) Individually, Bidah destroys the Hereafter of the person -
Narrated Ayshah: Allah's Apostle said, "If somebody innovates something which is not in harmony with the principles of our religion, that thing is rejected."

9) May lead to lying on Allah and His messenger -
The Prophet said:
"Whoever knowingly lie upon me, then let him occupy his seat in the Fire (of Hell)". [Bukhari, Muslim & others]

People will twist or fabricate Hadiths or references from the Quran in order to justify their actions. This is known to be one of the things that can take you out of Islam!!

Conclusion

- Allah says in the Quran: "This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed my favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion" [Noble Quran 5:4]

- Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

"I have left behind me two things, if you cling to them you will never go astray. They are the Book of Allah and my Sunnah" [al-Hakim]

and

"...so cling to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided caliphs after me, even if it be with your teeth" [Bukhari]

15 Ways to Increase Earnings

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem

Assalaamu Alaykum Warahmatulla hee Wa Barakaatuhu

15 Ways to Increase Earnings With Proofs From The Quran and Sunnah

1. The Taqwa of Allah
And whosoever fears Allâh and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). (2) And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allâh, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allâh will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allâh has set a measure for all things. [Surah Al-Talq, Verse 2-3]

And if the people of the towns had believed and had the Taqwâ (piety), certainly, We should have opened for them blessings from the heaven and the earth, but they belied (the Messengers). So We took them (with punishment) for what they used to earn (polytheism and crimes). [ Surah Al-Araf, Verse 96]

2. Seeking forgiveness and repentance

"I said (to them): 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; Verily, He is Oft-Forgiving; (10) 'He will send rain to you in abundance; (11) 'And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers.' " [Surah Nooh, Verses 10-12]

"And O my people! Ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him, He will send you (from the sky) abundant rain, and add strength to your strength, so do not turn away as Mujrimûn (criminals, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh)." [Surah Hood, Verse 52]

And (commanding you): "Seek the forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to Him in repentance, that He may grant you good enjoyment, for a term appointed, and bestow His abounding Grace to every owner of grace (i.e. the one who helps and serves needy and deserving, physically and with his wealth, and even with good words). But if you turn away, then I fear for you the torment of a Great Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). [Surah Hood, Verse 3]

3. Tawakkul

‘Umar Ibn Al-Khattab reported that Prophet :sals: said, “If you were to put trust in Allah (Tawakkul) the way that Allah deserves, then you would be [b]provided for as birds are; they leave (in search of food) at the beginning of the day famished, and return at the end of the day full” [Shaykah Al-Abani’s Silsilat Al-Sahihah, # 310]

And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allâh, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allâh will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allâh has set a measure for all things. [Surah Al-Talq, Verse 2-3]

Would that they were contented with what Allâh and His Messenger (SAW) gave them and had said: "Allâh is Sufficient for us. Allâh will give us of His Bounty, and so will His Messenger (from alms, etc.). We implore Allâh (to enrich us)." [Surah Al-Tawba, Verse 59]

4. Constantly worshipping Allah

Abu Hurayrah stated that the Prophet :saws: said, “Allah says, ‘O son of Adam! Take time out to constantly worship me, I will fill your chest with richness , and remove your poverty. And if you donot do so. I will make your hands filled with occupation, and will not remove your poverty” [Shaykh Al-Albani declared it to authentic in his Sunan Al-Tirmidhi]

Ma’qal Ibn Yasaar reported that Prophet :saws: said: “Your Lord, all glory and honour be to Him says, ‘O Son of Adam! Take the time out to constantly worship Mw, I will fill your chest with richness! O Son of Adam! Do not distance yourself from Me, or I will fill your chest with poverty, and fill your hands with work ” [Shaykah Al-Abani’s Silsilat Al-Sahihah, # 1359]

5.Thanking Allah

And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed: "If you give thanks (by accepting Faith and worshipping none but Allâh), I will give you more (of My Blessings), but if you are thankless (i.e. disbelievers), verily! My Punishment is indeed severe." [Surah Ibrahim, Verse 7]

6. Frequently performing Hajj and ‘Umrah

It has been reported by ‘abdullah Ibn Mas’ud that the Prophet of Allah :saws: said: “ Follow up between Hajj and ‘Umrah (i.e. cntiniously repeat the performance of Hajj and ‘Umrah) because they both eliminate poverty and sins just like a furnace eliminates the dirty impurities of iron, gold and silver. And an accepted Hajj has no reward less than paradise” [ Shaykh Al-Albani in Sahih Sunan Al-Tirmidhi (1/245)]

7. Establishing the ties of kinship

Abu Hurayrah reported that the Prophet :saws: said: “Whoever is pleased with the fact that his Rizq be increased, and his life-span be extended, then let him establish the ties of kinship” [Al-Bukari, # 5985]

Anas Ibn Malik reported that the Prophet :saws: said: “Whoever wishes to have his Rizq increased, and his life-span be extended, then let him establish the ties of kinship” [Al-Bukari, # 5986]

Abu Hurayrah reported that the Prophet :saws: said: “Learn enough of your lineage, so that you can establish the ties of kinship, for establish the ties of kinship increases the love amongst families and multiplies wealthand extends age” [Shaykh Al-Albani in Sahih Sunan Al-Tirmidhi (2/190)]

8. Spending in the Way of Allah

Say: "Truly, my Lord enlarges the provision for whom He wills of His slaves, and (also) restricts (it) for him, and whatsoever you spend of anything (in Allâh's Cause), He will replace it. And He is the Best of providers." [Surah Saba, Verse 39]

Abu Hurayrah said that the Prophet :saws: said: “ Allah has said: ‘O Son of Adam! Spend I will spend on you!” [Sahih Muslim (2/690)]

The Prophet :saws: said: “There is not a single day in which a servant wakes that two angels come down (from the Heavens). One of them says, O’ Allah! Give to the one that spends a substitute (for what he has spent). And the other one says, ‘O Allah! Give to the one that withholdsm(his money) destruction!” [Al-Bukhari #1442]

The Prophet :saws: said, “While a person was in an open area of land, he heard voice in a cloud above him say. “water the garden of so-and-so!” So the cloud immediately departed, and started pouring its rain out on a rocky plain. A large crevice in the rocks collected all of this water. So the man followed the water (in its course), and he found a man standing in his garden, using an instrument to direct this water in different directions *(to irrigate his garden). He said to him, ‘O servant of Allah! What is your name?’ The man said ‘So-an-so,’ the same name that he had heard in the clouds! Then the man asked him, ‘O servant of Allah! Why are you asking me my name?’ So he responded. ‘I heard a voice in the clouds- the same clouds that this water came fromo- saying, “water the garden of so-and-so” with your name. What do you interpret this as (i.e. why do you think this happened )?’ So he said, ‘If you say this (i.e. if what you say occurred), then (the reason for this is that) I see what (crops) come out of it (this graden), and I give one third in charity, and I eat wth my family one third of it, and I return one third of it (to cultivate more crops)”” and in another narration, it is reported that he said, …and I give one third of it to the poor, and the beggars, and the wayfarers.’ [Muslim (4/2288)]

9. Hijrah, Emigrating for the sake of Allah

He who emigrates (from his home) in the Cause of Allâh, will find on earth many dwelling places and plenty to live by. And whosoever leaves his home as an emigrant unto Allâh and His Messenger, and death overtakes him, his reward is then surely incumbent upon Allâh. And Allâh is Ever Oft¬Forgiving, Most Merciful. [Surah Al-Nisa, Verse 100]

10. Marriage

And marry those among you who are single (i.e. a man who has no wife and the woman who has no husband) and (also marry) the Sâlihûn (pious, fit and capable ones) of your (male) slaves and maid-servants (female slaves). If they be poor, Allâh will enrich them out of His Bounty. And Allâh is All-Sufficent for His creatures' needs, All-Knowing (about the state of the people). [Surah Al-Nur, Verse 32]

11.Supporting students of Islamic knowledge

Anas Ibn Malik said, “There were two brothers (that lived) at the time of the Prophet :saws:. One of them would come to Prophet :saws:, wheras the other one would seek his sustenance (by working). So the the one who used to seek his sustenance complained to the Prophet :saws: about his brother. The Prophet :saws:replied, ‘It is possible that you are provided your rizq because of him’” [Shaykh Al-Albani agreed it to be authentic, Saheeh Sunan Al-Tirmidhi(2/274)]

12. Showing kindness to the Poor

The Prophet :saws: said, “The only reason that you are aided in vicory (against your enemies) and provided with sustainance due to your weak?” [Al-Bukahri (14/179)]

13. Being honest in ones dealings

The Prophet :saws: said: "The two parties of a transaction have the right (to annul the contract) as long as they donot seperate (from each othe). So, if they were truthful (to one another), and honest in exaplaining (the defects of an item), then they will be blessed in their transaction. But, if they lied, and hid (the defects of an item) then the blessings of their transaction are destroyed" [Muslim, # 3836]

14.Making the Hereafter One’s main Concern

Once Zayd Bin Thabit wa with Marwan, the leader of the City, when he went to visit 'Abd Al-Rahman Ibn 'Uthman Bin 'Affan, Abd Al-Rahman said, "Nothing caused him to come here, at thishour excecpt a question that he wants to ask." So he asked him (what the matter was). He replied, "He (meaning Marwan) asked us about matters that we heard the Prophet :saws: say". I heard the Prophet :saws: say "Whoever puts this world as his only (and promary) goal, them Allah will divide his affairs fo rhim, and He will place poveryy before his eyes, and nothing will come to him of this world except that which was already written (i.e. pre-destined) for him. But whoever made the Hereafter his goal, the Allah will gather his affairs for him, and he will place richness in his heart, and the world will come to him conquered and submissive" [Al-Albani Silsila As-Saheehah, #950 ]

15. Striving to achieve the goal (for sustenance)

He knows that there will be some among you sick, others travelling through the land, seeking of Allâh's Bounty; yet others fighting in Allâh's Cause. So recite as much of the Qur'ân as may be easy (for you), and perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât) and give Zakât, and lend to Allâh a goodly loan, And whatever good you send before you for yourselves, (i.e. Nawâfil non-obligatory acts of worship: prayers, charity, fasting, Hajj and 'Umrah), you will certainly find it with Allâh, better and greater in reward. And seek Forgiveness of Allâh. Verily, Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most-Merciful [Surah Al-Muzammil, Verse 20]

And We have appointed the night and the day as two Ayât (signs etc.). Then, We have obliterated the sign of the night (with darkness) while We have made the sign of the day illuminating, that you may seek bounty from your Lord, and that you may know the number of the years and the reckoning. And We have explained everything (in detail) with full explanation. [Surah Al-Isra, Verse 20]

10 DAYS BEFORE RAMADAN

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh!
5 WEEKS BEFORE RAMADAN
‘Heart Focus’ Days
·         Make Tawbah Nasooha
·         Listen to Islamic lectures. Choose a scholar and topic that you feel will motivate you and get your heart into the right state
·         Read Islamic books about self development and purifying the heart
·         Do your best to pray all your Salah on time
·         Ensure that you pray the sunnah al-mu’akkadah rak’at with your five daily fard prayers
·         Actively focus on improving your kushoo’ in salah by spending more time on it and concentrating on what you are saying.
·         Allocate time to doing tasbeeha and istighfar, especially after salah.

HOW TO MAKE TAWBAH
Tawbah consists of three parts: Knowledge, repentance and determination

Knowledge: If you have knowledge of Islam then you will recognise your sins and understand why they are harmful for you and know what the punishment is if you continue to do those sins. You must also have sincere faith and devotion to Allah, because if you know that something displeases/angers Him then you will feel bad about doing it.

Repentance: Once you understand that the sins you have done are harmful and that you have earned Allah’s displeasure, then you will feel bad about having sinned. You will feel deep regret and remorse, even grief at having committed those sins.

Determination: When you feel so bad about doing those sins, then you will refrain from doing them and be determined never to do them again, especially if you know what the harmful effects and punishment are for those actions.

If you have committed a sin involving taking away someone else’s rights, then you must return those rights and ask forgiveness from that person also. (Adapted from Imam al-Ghazali, Ihya Ulumuddin, translated by Maulana Fazlul Karim, Taj Company, 1982, Vol. 4)

TIPS TO HELP YOU STAY AWAY FROM SINS:
·         Stay away from the places of sinning
·         Keep yourself in the company of those who remember Allah
·         Keep your hands busy with useful work and your tongue busy with remembrance of Allah
·         Understand the harmful effect of sins and read about the punishment for sinning
·         Remind yourself about the rewards from doing good deeds, both in this life and in the hereafter

15th Shaaban or Shaban The Night of Records

15th Shaaban or Shaban The Night of Records (Sunday 17 July)

15th Shaaban or Shaban The Night of Records

15th Shaaban or Shaban The Night of Records

Shaaban  is the eighth month of the Islamic calendar. This is the month of ‘separation’,
so called because the pagan Arabs used to disperse in search of water. On the fifteenth
night of this month falls the Shab-i-Barat,‘The Night of Records’, some people think
that on this night the prophet Muhammad told his followers that Allah records all the
deeds that the humans have to perform for the next year.
The Holy Prophet (sa.) had said that during the night of 15th Shaba'an the Almighty
takes decisions in the matters of sustenance, life and death and welfare of the people.
Next to the “Night of Qadr” the night of 15th Sha’baan is the most auspicious
night (also known as “night of Baraat”).

On the Night of 15th Shaban, after Maghrib or Isha prayer it is traditional practice to
read Surah Yasin and make special supplications for good health, protection from
calamities and increased Iman.

According to tradition this night has special blessings that are directed towards the faithful.
Therefore, as much as possible, this night should be spent in worship and total
submission to Allah Almighty. Also, fasting is recommended on the day immediately
following this Night, i.e. the 15th day of Shaban.Fast of the 15th Sha'ban.

On the day immediately following the Night of Bara'ah, i.e. the 15th of Sha'ban, it is mustahabb (advisable) to keep fast. Prophet Muhammad, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam, is reported to have recommended this fast emphatically. Although the scholars of hadith have some doubts in the authenticity of this report, yet it is mentioned earlier that the fasts of the first half of Sha'ban have special merits and Prophet Muhammad, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam, used to fast most of the days in Sha'ban. Moreover, a large number of the elders (salaf) of the Ummah have been observing the fast of the 15th of Sha'ban. This constant practice indicates that they have accepted the relevant hadith as authentic.

Therefore, it is advisable to fast the 15th of Sha'ban as an optional (nafl) fast. One can also keep a fast of qada on this day and it is hoped that he can also benefit from the merits of this fast.

Spend the night, as much as possible, in worship and on the 15th of Shabaan fast.

Sahih Al Bukhari Vol 1 Book 4 No.139 Ablution ( Wudu').

In the name of ALLAH most gracious and most mercifull.
The Prophet (PBUH) said "Pass on knowledge from me even if it is only  one verse"

Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah
As-Salaam Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu

Narrated by Khuraib (Radhiallaho anho):
Allah's Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) said,

*******

Ibn 'Abbas said, "The Prophet slept till he snored and then prayed (or probably lay till his breath sounds were heard and then got up and prayed)." Ibn 'Abbas added: "I stayed overnight in the house of my aunt, Maimuna, the Prophet slept for a part of the night, (See Fateh-al-Bari page 249, Vol. 1), and late in the night, he got up and performed ablution from a hanging water skin, a light (perfect) ablution and stood up for the prayer. I, too, performed a similar ablution, then I went and stood on his left. He drew me to his right and prayed as much as Allah wished, and again lay and slept till his breath sounds were heard. Later on the Mua'dhdhin (callmaker for the prayer) came to him and informed him that it was time for Prayer. The Prophet went with him for the prayer without performing a new ablution." (Sufyan said to 'Amr that some people said, "The eyes of Allah's Apostle sleep but his heart does not sleep." 'Amr replied, "I heard 'Ubaid bin 'Umar saying that the dreams of Prophets were Divine Inspiration, and then he recited the verse: 'I (Abraham) see in a dream, (O my son) that I offer you in sacrifice (to Allah)." (37.102) (See Hadith No. 183)
